Cian Tote Bag Class beginners

A great way to start learning the basics of machine sewing. In this class, we will learn how to properly utilize a sewing machine, cutting fabric, using a ruler and use fusible interfacing. We will be making a tote bag, with skills that can easily be transferred to many other sewing projects!
What to expect:
-Hands on learning with machine sewing
-Learning how to thread a needle & easily tie your threads
-Learning about different types of fabrics & fabric uses
-Learning how to properly thread, turn on & manage your sewing machine
-Learning basic stitches you'll use on most garments, such as a straight stitch and zig zag
-Learning how to properly read a ruler & understand making a pattern
If you have a sewing machine you'd like to use in class, please make sure it is in proper working order prior to class. Don't have a machine? We offer machines for students to use in our classrooms! Please let a teacher know

Requirements: | Materials: - 1 yard of fabric (Cotton, Poplin, Light-Weight Canvas fabric recommended) -1 yard of Light Weight Fusible Interfacing ( Ex. Pellon P44F or Pellon 906F) -Matching all purpose thread -Sewing machine and manual -Fabric scissors -ruler (School rulers are fine, Quilting ruler is recommended) -pencil -sewing pen/ pencil or tailors chalk (Frixion pens are recommended) -pins |
